Step 1: Design
This is the first step in creating your ideal home. It's a fun and exciting but sometimes a challenging process because everyone's preferences and lifestyle are different. Whether you like modern or contemporary, our experienced team will work with you to make sure your home reflects your lifestyle and function. We will help you figure out how much space your family will need with your future in mind. For example, how many bedrooms, bathrooms, size of closets and storage to make your family comfortable and function to you. Your dream home starts with all these important decisions.
Step 2: Foundation
After you've partnered with CBI Contracting and settled on your design plans, it's time to prepare the building site. Site Clearing: Our skilled construction crews clear the site by removing trees, shrubs, and debris. We level the land and mark spots for gas, water, electrical, and plumbing lines, ensuring a strong foundation for your dream home. Infrastructure Setup: Once the site is clear and level, our dedicated teams install crucial mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. These are essential for your new home's infrastructure and come before the foundation. Building the Foundation: The foundation is the rock-solid base of your future home, and we take it seriously:
- Framing: Our experienced crews create the framework for your foundation, positioning utility lines correctly.
- Pouring Concrete: This is where your foundation truly takes shape. We carefully pour and allow time for proper curing, typically a couple of weeks.
- Electrical Setup: Expert electricians ground your foundation and ensure full power connectivity.
- Quality Assurance: Inspectors and utility representatives visit to inspect and ensure all work meets the highest standards.
Step 3: Structure
This phase is where your dream home starts to materialize, and you can picture your life inside it. Keep in mind that the duration of this step can vary due to several factors:
- Structure Type and Size: The size and complexity of your home can influence how long this step takes.
- Project Complexity: Custom and unique features may require more time.
- Supply Disruptions: Delays in construction
- Unforeseen Challenges: The weather can be very unpredictable at various times of the year.
- Crew Scheduling: Changes in construction crew schedules
Step 4: Building Systems
As the house framing nears completion, it's time for our HVAC and electrical teams to step in for the 'rough-in' phase. The timeline for this process can vary based on the design, size, and complexity of your project. Once our crews have set up the air ducts and wired the house, a thorough rough-in inspection will be conducted before we proceed.
Step 5: Roof and Siding
At this stage, your home's frame comes to life, displaying its unique character. Our roofing experts and construction teams are now on-site, ready to apply the exterior sheathing material that you carefully selected during the design phase.
Step 6: Interior
During this phase, we take care of your comfort and the interior aesthetics. Here's how it works: Insulation Choices: We select insulation tailored to our climate. The most common types are fiberglass, cellulose, or spray foam insulation. We ensure your home is energy-efficient and comfortable. Hanging Drywall: Once insulation is in place, our skilled crews hang the drywall, creating the foundation for your interior walls. Interior Wall Transformation: Finally, our teams work their magic by prepping, texturing, and painting the interior walls. This phase adds the final touches to your home's interior, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Step 7: Tailored Installs
The installations in this phase are customized to your unique selections of flooring, cabinetry, and appliances. Your choices influence the precise nature of this step, ensuring that your home aligns perfectly with your preferences and requirements.
Step 8: Outdoor
While the finishing touches are applied to your home's interior, we focus more on the exterior. This phase involves details such as painting, staining, installing exterior light fixtures, and landscaping. We create an aesthetically pleasing and inviting exterior, ensuring your curb appeal is exactly how you envisioned it as you approach the entrance to your new home.
Step 9: Final Inspection
Before you make your move in, we take the necessary steps to ensure your new home is safe and ready. Final Site Inspection: An inspector makes a final visit to your house to thoroughly check and approve all completed work. Functional Testing: With power and water turned on, the inspector tests all utilities to ensure they work correctly. Safety and Readiness: The objective is to certify that your house is 100% prepared and secure for your family to move in. Certificate of Occupancy: When your home successfully passes the inspection, you'll receive a Certificate of Occupancy from the Division of Building Inspections. This document signifies that your new house is ready for you to make it your home.
Step 10: Move-In Day
The moment you’ve eagerly awaited has arrived! After months of anticipation, it’s finally time to load up the moving truck and embark on the exciting journey into your beautiful new home. This marks the beginning of the next chapter in your life, full of memories waiting to be made.
